The creaking comes from the guest bed at my parents. The recording involved a microphone on the floor under the bed and me rolling on the bed. When listening to the recording, it immediately felt like the creaking of a metal boat in the storm, the rustling of the bed sheets making a very good substitute for the sound of the wind. The creation was relatively simple and just involved a few cuts and mixing in the sound of waves I recorded in Brighton. This piece respects my vow of minimalism.
